John Passafiume is a Brooklyn-based designer and illustrator specializing in
hand lettering and formal aesthetics. He is presently the Senior Designer working with Louise Fili of Louise Fili Ltd, a boutique firm in Manhattan, New York. Prior to graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Indiana University–Bloomington, he obtained an early education from Studio Simon under Daniel Simon in Louisville, Kentucky—where he is also a native. His work has been recognized by the Type Director's Club of New York, AIGA, How, and Adobe. In 2011 he was named a Young Gun by the Art Director's Club of New York and a New Visual Artist by Print Magazine in the 20 Under 30 issue.
